2002 Cowes to Fastnet to Plymoth World Record

Friday March 17th, 2002 – American skipper Steve Fossett and his international crew of 11, aboard 125′ maxi catamaran PlayStation, set a new world record for the Fastnet race course. Their time of 35 hours 17 minutes and 14 seconds beats the previous mark by a considerable 5 hour margin.
The previous record for this course was set by Loick Peyron on Fujicolour II in the Fastnet race of 1999.
