Morrelli and Melvin teams up with Island Boats to provide two 200 passenger ferries for Boston Harbor islands ferry service

Island boats will build the 65′, 200 passenger aluminum catamaran ferries that will be used for a new Boston Harbor islands ferry service. Design and build will take only four months, allowing the service to commence operation in the late spring of 2005.

The 34′ high speed aluminum power catamarans will replace Axxis Drillings existing fleet of conventional monohull crew boats, allowing the company to transfer personnel and equipment to their offshore drilling rigs faster, more comfortably, and efficiently. First boat to launch in May, 2005.

The Gilles Ollier and Associates designed catamaran broke the one year old record previously held by Cheyenne, a Morrelli and Melvin designed 125′ catamaran owned by Steve Fossett.

Just Launched! 50′ custom Morrelli and Melvin designed cruising catamaran for Dan Curry and Judi Daufeldt. Built by Ian Franklin Boatbuilders in Christchurch, NZ.
